Cotton fibers

Cotton is the most widely used plant fiber, which is most used in the textile and clothing industries due to its special properties, such as strength and high moisture absorption.

Cotton is one of the grain plant fibers. The height of the cotton plant sometimes reaches 3 meters. Its leaves are cut and its flowers are white, yellow and pink.

The fruit of the cotton plant is known as boll. Cotton seeds (cotton seeds) are located inside the boll and cotton fibers grow massively on the surface of cotton seeds.

Cotton picking is done by machine or hand method. In the machine method, a special machine separates and collects the cotton fibers from the boll, without harming the cotton plant. In the manual method, this is done by the worker. Today, cotton picking is done by machine in developed countries, while hand picking is still used in developing countries. After picking cotton, cotton seeds are separated from cotton fibers using a cotton gin machine. After cleaning the cotton, the cotton fibers are compressed together in the form of rectangular cube bundles, which are called bales, and they are covered with hemp or chetai cloth. Then, in order to convert the fibers into yarn, the bales are transported to the spinning mills

Cotton fibers have different qualities. The determining factor of the quality of cotton fibers is the length and fineness of the fibers. The longer and finer the cotton fibers are, the stronger and softer they are and the higher the quality.
